Meditation & Mindfulness

Yoga Off the Mat: Bringing Yoga Into Everyday Life

You might have heard that there’s more to yoga than just the poses – but what does that mean? This workshop will explore how the teachings of yoga apply to life off the mat, from philosophical concepts like the yamas and niyamas (the ethics of yoga) to everyday mindfulness practices. The workshop will be mostly lecture, discussion, and reflection, with some light movement. Come learn how yoga can help you live a kinder, more conscious, and more joyful life – no headstands required!

Meditation Exploration

Maybe you think you don’t like meditation – but maybe you just haven’t found the right style yet! This workshop is a chance to explore some of the many types of meditation out there and understand how they differ and what might work for you. We will do brief practices of several different styles, including mindfulness, metta, and moving meditation, and you’ll leave with the tools to develop your own practice.

Mindfulness Tools for Joyful Living

Yoga brings many of us a sense of joy and peace – but what about when you’re not on your mat? This workshop will explore a variety of tools to help you live well in your daily life, including gratitude, intention-setting, reflection, affirmations, and more. You’ll learn how to develop meaningful practices that resonate with you, and you’ll leave with specific techniques to start incorporating into your life off the mat.

Community Circle

These themed community events are a unique experience to connect with one and another and yourself. Come together for intentional movement, meditation practice, guided reflection, intention setting, and optional 1:1 and group sharing. Leave feeling rejuvenated and ready to approach the next season with care.

Strength Training

Strength Training Fundamentals

Do you want to learn about getting stronger? This workshop covers all the basics of strength training, including planning and structuring workouts, choosing the best number of sets and repetitions, selecting the appropriate amount of weight, and progressing over time. In addition, you’ll learn how to properly execute 10 fundamental strength training exercises and get feedback on each one. You’ll leave with everything you need to start strength training at home or at the gym!

Strength for Yoga Practitioners

Modern yoga tends to emphasize certain movements while overlooking others, which can result in unexpected weakness and stiffness (not what you came to yoga for!). This workshop will break down common movements in yoga – and illuminate the gaps in a typical yoga class. You’ll learn specific exercises and daily habits to both support and complement your yoga practice.

Yoga & Movement

Aligning Asana: The How and Why of Yoga Poses

This workshop is an exploration of key poses in yoga. Part lecture and part practice, this is an opportunity to dive into the mechanics of asana, refine the basics, and experiment with more advanced poses. We’ll also discuss the purpose of asana, as well as what you can do off the mat to support your practice. My goal is to help you gain a new understanding of how your body moves and how yoga poses can work for you. All levels will benefit!

Developing Mobility: The What, Why, and How

Most of us want to feel less tight and be able to move more easily – but how do we get there? This workshop aims to help you better understand mobility in various parts of the body. We’ll discuss differences between mobility and flexibility, how mobility is related to strength, and where that feeling of stiffness or tightness might be coming from. You’ll leave with a better understanding of how your body moves, plus some tips and exercises to practice at home.

Find Your Footing: A Yoga-Based Workshop to Improve Balance

Many people come to yoga in the hope of improving balance – but is practicing tree pose enough to get there? This workshop will draw from both yoga and personal training to break down the many factors that affect balance, including posture, body awareness, and strength in key areas. We’ll also do balance assessments during the workshop, so you can see where you’re at and measure changes along the way. You’ll leave with more knowledge about what it takes to improve balance, as well as tips and exercises to help you find more stability.

Demystifying the Spine: Posture, Strength, and Yoga

This workshop is an exploration of all things related to the spine, including how it’s built, how it moves, and how it relates to other parts of the body. It will be part lecture and part practice, and will cover improving posture, spinal function in asana, and how daily activities affect the back (plus what to do about it!). We’ll also talk about common causes of back pain and how they might be addressed. I hope you’ll leave with a better understanding of your spine and how to take care of it!
